Diy yarn swift

I scored a great deal on this huge hank of yarn at an estate sale but had no yarn swift. The idea of trying to hold this around my arms and troubleshooting while winding, had me in a panic. Google to the rescue! I saw a picture of this set up and just had to give it a try. It worked!
Office chair turned over with a folding chair for support, wheels removed, magic markers pushed into spaces of spokes. Wind away!

Major work in progress...

After completing  +Frank Orandle's mini Spirals  of Change, I am completely  "hooked" on his patterns!

Mini Spirals of Change

I purchased three  more of his patterns, and am now tackling Depths of Change.
You can find all his patterns HERE.

Here is a series  of photos of my progression to date.

I will admit to being terrible at choosing colors, so I sought help from Diva Dan over at the Crochet Crowd. He has 70 color combos of RHSS to browse  through. I chose the Wood Fire color combination, with the addition  of burgundy,  for a total of 7 colors.

You can look through  all the color combinations  HERE.
